Congressman Bill Johnson, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Ohio's 6th district, brought his team to the Personal Protected Ohio Facility to gain a better understanding of the solutions being produced for all public health and hygiene.

Creating A Healthy Ohio

Hitch-Hiker Manufacturing, the parent company to Personal Protected, was making waves in the amusement industry prior to the pandemic. Now that everything has changed, for us as well as the rest of the world, Congressman Bill Johnson had made it a priority to support the businesses in his district.

Congressman Johnson and his team made their way out to Northeastern Ohio on June 18th to visit the Personal Protected Facility as their first time back into the public. Upon arriving, they were interested to hear how the business was affected. They were told how this 52 year old company had to be completely restructured in order to survive the devastating hit of COVID-19.

"We pivoted fairly quickly to become a solution that everyone needs," said Holly Swartz, CFO of Personal Protected, "The biggest thing is to wash your hands, and second biggest thing is social distancing. That is why we are so unique and effective, because we hit both of those standards."

Holly and her husband, Jeff Swartz, continued the tour through the product line and further explained the purpose, function, and potential that will be recognized in this new solution to normalcy. After the tour, Congressman Johnson thanked them for their time and shared words of encouragement as he said "plan on being busy."
