SEBRING — Sebring Local Schools on Tuesday received a Quad-Sink handwashing station, provided by Mahoning County commissioners through 2020 federal CARES Act funding.
The district plans to use the station in the McKinley Jr./Sr. High cafeteria during lunch times and at public events, including football games. The handwashing station provides separated sinks, allowing four individuals to wash their hands at the same time without having to stand near others without barriers.
“The addition of the Quad-Sink to our school and events will allow for increased personal sanitation while providing the social distancing needed to remain safe,” Toni Viscounte, superintendent for Sebring Local Schools, said in a news release. “We are thrilled with this addition to our schools and are incredibly thankful that the Mahoning County Board of Commissioners have recognized the needs in our community and included this in the projects supported by the federal CARES Act funds.”
Sebring is one of 23 area schools receiving Quad-Sinks through CARES Act funding. The handwashing stations are produced by Personal Protected in New Middletown.
“It’s making handwashing safe and convenient by putting it right in the path of where the crowds are,” Jeff Swartz, president of Personal Protected, said in the release.
The Quad-Sink can accommodate more than 700 hand-washes per hour, and 6,000 hand washes before needing restocked. The sinks are designed with low-volume touchless faucets, touchless soap dispensers and touchless paper towel dispensers for safer, no-contact handwashing.
